How to behave

The Sevillian is usually open and friendly, despite the deep feeling of losing the essence of the city due to the tourist overcrowding that has been occurring in recent years. They are usually polite if you ask them, especially in Spanish, and give good directions. Some of the places recommended in this brochure are usually frequented only by Sevillians. If you want to not be immediately identified as a "tourist" or "guiri", try not to go in a swimsuit or without a shirt, no matter how hot it is, and do not abuse the suntan lotion (no Sevillian puts it on in the city, because you have to walk strategically in the shade avoiding the sun walking and never in the hottest hours of summer). Please do not wear sandals with socks on (it's as if you were wearing a fire siren), or flip-flops. Calling the waiter "jefe" is good practice and trying to speak in Spanish, even if it is only "cerveza y olivitas".
